Job Description
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO), operating under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has started accepting the application form for 899 vacancies in the General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) (Advt. No. 01/2026). BRO is a premier road construction agency responsible for building and maintaining roads, bridges, tunnels, and infrastructure in border areas, hilly regions, and remote strategic zones across India. This is a permanent central government job with stable pay, defence allowances, and field experience.

- Written Exam
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET), including measurement of basic physical measurements, and Trade Test (TT)
- Primary Medical Examination(PME) and Document verification (DV)

Application Fee
To complete the application form, candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs. 50/-. Candidates from the SC/ ST category are exempted from paying the fee.

- Payment Mode – Online only through Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking. No offline payment is accepted.

How to Apply
Applications are submitted offline by postal mode for BRO GREF Recruitment 2026. Follow these steps:
- Visit the official BRO website: www.bro.gov.in
- Download the prescribed application form from the Recruitment section.
- Read the detailed notification PDF carefully, including all eligibility conditions and instructions.
- Fill in the application form neatly in capital letters using black/blue ink.
- Attach self-attested photocopies of all required documents (do not send originals).
- Pay the application fee (if applicable) through the online payment link available on the website, and print the fee receipt.
- Write on the top of the envelope: “APPLICATION FOR (NAME OF POST/TRADE) — CATEGORY (UR/SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/ESM)”
- Send the application by Registered Post to: The Commandant, GREF Centre, Dighi Camp, Pune – 411015
Note – Applications must reach before the closing date. Cutting, overwriting, or erasing in the application form will not be accepted. The appointment is on a permanent basis.
