Job Description
Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has released the official notification PDF for Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test. The JTET is an eligibility test for candidates who wish to teach Classes 1- 8 at government schools in Jharkhand. Candidates must note that only B.Ed and D.El.Ed-trained candidates are eligible to apply for the JTET.

JTET (Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test) is a state-level eligibility exam conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) under the Government of Jharkhand. The exam determines the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions in primary (Classes 1–5) and upper primary (Classes 6–8) schools across the state. The validity of the certificate received after qualifying for the test is for a lifetime, and there is no restriction on the number of attempts.

Paper I- Exam Pattern
JTET 2026 Paper I will be conducted for a total of 150 marks and will be conducted as an OMR-Based examination. For every correct answer, candidates will be rewarded +1.

Paper II- Exam Pattern

Minimum Qualifying Marks
To pass the Jharkhand TET examination, it is mandatory to pass the examination with a minimum qualifying percentage. The minimum qualifying percentage varies as per different categories. The table below provides section-wise and total qualifying percentages for every category.

- After proceeding further, you are redirected to the payment gateway. Pay the application/examination fee as per your specific category.
- Now, submit the JTET Application Form and take a print of the same.
Qualifications
- Intermediate examination with a total of 50% in aggregate OR 2-year diploma or 4-year bachelor’s program in Elementary Education for Paper I.
- 2-year diploma/bachelor’s program in Elementary Education OR Bachelor’s of Science/Arts and Bachelor’s of Education (Integrated) for Paper II.
